One Car Becomes Two

This garage used to be a small 2 car because it was built around the turn of the 20th century. The brick was recycled from the original building and used to cover the front and wainscot (partially cover) the sides.

Are you interested in turning your tiny dated garage into usable space? Want to be earth friendly and recycle to brick into the building? Please call us to talk about your project. 303-518-1861

Gore Residence, Part 2

After this family got a chance to use the fire pit they continued with their summer room remodel. This wall was done with a pop out and basket weave patter to match the existing decorative brickwork on the other side of the house.

Flagstone Patio Before & After

I admit I love to look at before and after photos. It doesn't matter if the subject is a wardrobe makeover, the next best cosmetic or rebuilds on cars. I love them. But I do have a favorite kind of Before & After (and HGTV caters to this passion). My passion in a Before & After is home repair. (A little Curb Appeal anyone?)
Accent Custom Masonry does a lot of these little gems. We had a beautiful one earlier this year. The material is Pennsylvania Blue Flagstone. Let me tell you before you get to see these photos, they do not do justice to how pretty this stone is in person. It comes in a variety of colors, all naturally occurring of course, including grays, blues, greens and browns.

You can see from the photo above that this existing patio needed some TLC. To avoid this on your flagstone DO NOT use salt or other ice melters as it degrades the cement between the stones.

What the picture doesn't tell you is that this homeowner chose to incorporate a heating system beneath the flagstone so they won't need to use ice melter in the future.

Here is a slightly better image of the color in this stone. If you are interested in Pennsylvania Blue Flagstone we would be happy to direct you or even accompany you to the nearest stone yard that carries it. Please call us at 303-518-1861 for more information.

Hotz Residence

This gas grill is a beautiful addition to an amazing backyard. The countertops are Sebastian flagstone. The mortar is colored to match the existing stonework on the home.

This unique fire pit was converted from an existing pond structure. Fire pits can be created in many shapes.

Conover Residence

The Conover's wanted to create an outdoor kitchen as well as an area to entertain.

The fire pit and wall (pictured below) created a living space.

The grill makes a wonderful outdoor kitchen. The large flagstone countertops provide plenty of space for food preparation and storage.

Gore Residence

This fire pit is at a private residence. They did not have a lot of room so this is a small pit. The outside diameter is approximately 3'. This job also included an enclosure for a grill and some repair work on the wall behind the pit.

The Breakers

Both fire pits are at The Breakers in Aurora, Co. Fire pits are constructed with block and rebar to reinforce the structure. They are then covered, veneered, with an artificial stone. The cap is dimensional flagstone.

Want a way to extend your outdoor living room use in the fall and winter? Consider a natural gas or wood burning fire pit.

Palomino Park

This fire pit is at Palomino Park in Littleton, CO. It is very close to the pool and makes a great place for conversation.
This fire pit is a great size for an apartment complex or a large back yard. The outside diameter is 5' across. This pit is constructed with block and veneered in artificial stone.
